How your information is handled

Privacy Policy

Last updated August 2026

Short version: I collect the minimum needed to run a newsletter and a shop, I do not sell your data, and you can ask me to delete it at any time.

Who I am

This site is operated by Rebecca Marcus, MD (“I,” “me”). Contact: privacy@drbeccamarcus.com.

What is collected

Information you give me. Your email address when you subscribe to the newsletter; your name, email and message when you use the contact form; and, if you ever buy something directly here, the order and payment details Shopify needs to process it.

Information collected automatically. Standard web log data (IP address, browser, device, referring page), and cookies or similar technologies used by Shopify to run the site and by analytics to understand which pages are read.

This site is not intended for children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect their information.

Health information

I do not want your health information here. Please do not send medical details, symptoms or photographs through this site. Anything you do send is not protected health information under HIPAA, is not part of a medical record, and is handled as ordinary email.

How it is used

To send the newsletter you asked for; to reply to you; to fulfil and support orders; to understand which content is useful; and to meet legal and tax obligations. I do not sell your personal information, and I do not share it except with the service providers below or where the law requires it.

Service providers

Shopify (hosting, checkout), my email platform , analytics , and affiliate networks whose links appear on the site (ShopMy, Amazon Associates, Rakuten, Skimlinks). Affiliate networks set their own cookies when you click a link, and their privacy policies govern what they do with that.

Cookies

Cookies keep the site working, remember whether you have dismissed the newsletter prompt, and measure traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; parts of the site may then behave oddly. Where required, a consent banner appears before non-essential cookies are set.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal information, to opt out of targeted advertising or sale of personal data, and to withdraw consent. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link. To make any other request, email privacy@drbeccamarcus.com and I will respond within the time the law allows. I will not treat you differently for asking.

If you are in the EEA or UK, the legal bases I rely on are consent (newsletter, non-essential cookies), contract (orders), and legitimate interests (running and improving the site). Data may be processed in the United States.

Retention and security

Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe; contact messages for as long as needed to handle them; order records for as long as tax law requires. I use reasonable safeguards, and no website can promise perfect security.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes and, where required, I will tell subscribers directly.
